According to a recent permit filing, a new winery called Vagabond Wine Company will soon open in Woodinville at 19495 144th Ave NE #2A.
A representative of Vagabond Wine Company was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Seattle’s request.
While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, the owner and permit filer is Ryan Lowell, with the permit listing Vagabond as a domestic winery.
As both the owner and an aspiring winemaker, Ryan Lowell is stated to be a one-man show behind Vagabond, embarking on a journey that intersects passion, craftsmanship, and collaboration with local wineries specializing in Rhone and Bordeaux-inspired varietals, according to the company website.
For those that are unfamiliar, the Rhone Valley, nestled in the heart of France, is described as having a tapestry of diversity when it comes to winemaking. Known for its Mediterranean climate and a terrain that ranges from rugged mountains to fertile valleys, the Rhone Valley boasts an array of grape varieties. Some of the most renowned Rhone varietals include Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Viognier.
In Bordeaux, on the southwestern coast of France, the region’s illustrious history in winemaking has been described as making it a benchmark for elegance and refinement in the world of wine. Bordeaux is most famous for its red varietals, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec.
