“Does anyone know where Barry’s Jerk Delight is located now?” said a post published to the Facebook group Ocala’s Food Junkies in summer 2024. “They were in the Ocala Mall before it abruptly closed. The food was good and I’ve been lookin for good Jamaican food for awhile now.”

Two years later, this question now appears to be finding an answer.

This week, What Now came across plan review paperwork submitted by Barry’s Jerk Delight LLC showing Barry’s Jerk Delight opening at 3100 SW College Rd, Suite 334.

That address is the home of Paddock Artisan Market, a food and retail space in the heart of Ocala.

“Paddock Market offers an unparalleled opportunity for small businesses, restaurants, and retailers,” says the Paddock Market website. “With 95 exclusive spaces spanning various sizes and amenities, our market is designed to fuel your business growth and bring your entrepreneurial dreams to life.”

Signs thus point to a return for Barry’s Jerk Delight in Ocala!

What Now reached out to owner Barrington Carty to ask about plans for the reopening at Paddock Artisan Market. Carty was not immediately available for comment, but stay tuned as What Now awaits further details.
