Founded in 2007, donut franchise Duck Donuts has grown fast, reaching a total of 142 locations as of last November. As the brand continues “sprinkling happiness” at more and more locations in Florida, it’s currently preparing to launch a new location in Brooksville, at 13105 Cortez Blvd. (Submitted documents refer to this location as part of Brooksville, while Google Maps places it in Spring Hill.)
Duck Donuts is known for adventurous donut flavors like French Toast, Maple Bacon, and Peanut Butter Paradise. It also features seasonal varieties. This summer, peach is on the menu, with Peaches & Cream, Peach Tart, Peach Cobbler, and Peach Pie varieties. There’s also a nautical them, with flavors like Overboard, High Tide, and the Sandbar, plus—gasp— Shark Attack and Shark Bite.
“It all began on the sandy beaches of the Outer Banks in Duck, North Carolina,” says the Duck Donuts website. “There, Founder Russ DiGilio and his family would enjoy relaxing and fun vacations. But something was missing – there was no place to get that sweet staple of happiness – a warm, fresh donut! So, they decided to create their own which led to the first Duck Donuts opening in 2007.”
What Now reached out on Tuesday to franchisee Michael Putnam to ask about plans for the new location. Putnam declined to comment.
