Capriotti’s, the award-winning sub shop that bills itself as being “fanatically delicious,” is set to open a third Tampa location at 3817 Northdale Blvd in spring 2023, according to franchisee Scott Crawford.
Crawford currently operates two other Capriotti’s in the greater Tampa region, one on Collier Pkwy in Lutz and the other along State Rd 54 in Odessa, with plans to open a total of 15 over the next couple of years.
“The quality of Capriotti’s is something one would expect to have in their favorite home-cooked meal,” said Crawford. “No matter the sandwich preference, the entire Tampa Bay area will soon be able to experience a level of quality and comfort that has never been available in the area until now.”
Crawford is a seasoned restaurant professional with more than 20 years of experience, dating all the way back to his time as a humble pizza delivery driver. With his finger on the pulse of what makes diners tick, “Developing the award-winning sandwich brand in an untapped market is what initially inspired [his] interest,” according to a press release. “Drawn to the mouthwatering menu items provided by Capriotti’s, Crawford is excited to bring the concept he is passionate about to the area.”
Since its founding in Wilmington, DE in 1976 by Lois and Alan Margolet, Capriotti’s has garnered numerous awards from the likes of the Washington Post, Zagat, USA Today, Entrepreneur Magazine, and more.
The brand is perhaps best known for its Butterball turkey recipe, which sees the meat slow-roasted for 12 hours in-house and hand-pulled fresh every morning, culminating in signature sandwiches such as The Bobbie, which comes with cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo for a Thanksgiving treat all year-round.
“To this day,” the company writes on its website, “the whole roast turkeys, quality meats and cheeses, and fresh rolls and produce continue to impress our patrons and earn awards across the country.”
