Cru Cellars to Rebrand as Vela Tampa

Vela will serve Mediterranean cuisine, plus wine and cocktails

Cru CellarsWestshore Marina District location is about to undergo a transformation. Cru Cellars will be reimagined as Vela, a new Mediterranean restaurant.

“As Cru Hospitality Group evolves – so do our concepts,” owner Jennifer Bingham said in a recent Instagram post. “We are thrilled to announce the introduction of @velatampa and the next chapter of @crucellars. We so deeply appreciate your support over the years and look forward to what’s to come.”

Cru Hospitality has been highly active this year, recent coverage by That’s So Tampa points out, launching Bouzy, its new champagne bar, in Hyde Park Village, along with Downtown Tampa’s Small Giant and Wine on Water concepts.

Little is known yet about the Vela menu. The That’s So Tampa coverage says it will feature pizza, Mediterranean cuisine, wine, and cocktails. What Now reached out to Bingham on Wednesday to inquire about the menu; Bingham was not immediately available for comment.
