Local baker, barista, and owner of Elevenses, Jade Yelvington took to social media yesterday and announced that the company has been steadily working on building out its forever home, located at 1001 E Columbus Dr in Tampa’s V.M. Ybor neighborhood. According to local media outlet CL Tampa, the storefront is slated to open early next year.

What Now Tampa could not immediately reach Yelvington for comment.

Elevenses has been operating out of Chocolate Pi, which is owned and operated by her mother, Kim Yelvington. However, despite the confectionary industry running in the family, Jade never wanted to join the field professionally, according to Elevenses’ website. That is “until she discovered latte art which led her to the world of craft coffee with which she promptly fell in love.

Similarly, baking came into the picture when Jade envisioned a “slightly unusually flavored cake” of cranberry, corn, and basil, which launched the young baker on a colorful odyssey of epic proportions.

“If there’s a true happy medium between nostalgic homemade desserts you might find in your grandma’s kitchen, and odd flavor combinations that you don’t see everywhere – that’s where we’d like to be. Floating around in a world full of beautiful, tasty, slightly quirky treats.”
