With one cigar bar in Ybor City, at 1523 E Seventh Ave, plus two more in California, King Corona Cigar Lounge is planning to double down on the Cigar Capital of the World. This November, the company will open King Corona 1902, a new cigar bar and members-only lounge, at 1902 E Seventh Ave.
Ivan, one of the bar’s proprietors, told What Now on Friday that King Corona 1902 is tentatively planning on a November 1 launch. It’s currently accepting advance membership applications at kingcorona1902.com.
“Since 1998, King Corona has been the home of premium cigars, great food, and even better company,” the website says. “Now we’re introducing our most exclusive experience yet. Every piece of furniture has been custom built exclusively for King Corona. Every detail has been designed to create a lounge unlike anything else in Ybor City.”
Occupying a two-story space, King Corona 1902 will feature a downstairs bar that will be open to the public. There will also be a coffee bar (complete with a coffee roasting station) and 500 lockers for cigar storage. Upstairs, the members-only lounge will contain an additional 100 lockers for executive members—and it will also have a 1,000-square-foot balcony overlooking Ybor City.
Ivan says more news about King Corona 1902 is coming out soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
“There’s going to be a lot of cool things going on at this store, with a very interactive experience with holograms that lets people see a lot more behind the scenes.”
Further details are staying under wraps for now. For example, King Corona 1902 will also feature a food program of some kind. But that has yet to be announced.
