This fall, St. Petersburg will welcome a new coffee shop showcasing coffee traditions from Lebanon, Turkey, Yemen, and beyond. Called Mocha Bay Coffee House, named after Yemen’s famous Port of Mocha, it’s opening at 401 First Ave. N.

“We’re opening in a few weeks,” Hamdi Ali, an owner of Mocha Bay, told What Now on Friday. “Four or five weeks.”

“Mocha Bay will serve espresso drinks alongside traditional Yemeni coffee preparations, using medium-to-dark roasted beans sourced from Yemen,” says recent coverage by St. Pete Rising.

Ali tells What Now the menu will also feature coffee drinks from countries like Lebanon and Turkey. You’ll also find a selection of breakfast foods and desserts, in a cafe space with seating for about 30 people—plus another 25 seats or so in an outdoor area.

Opening in the First Avenue North space, Mocha Bay Coffee House replaces Deja Vu Cafe.
