The Wexford Irish Pub & Grille, a “cozy watering hole offering draft beers & classic Irish & American pub grub, plus live music,” is currently marked Temporarily Closed on Google Maps in its location at 2836 E Beares Ave in Tampa.

As if it weren’t already clear that The Wexford is up to something, What Now came across submitted plan review documents earlier this week that show The Wexford opening at 2741 E County Line Road in Lutz.

That East County Line Road location, part of the Livingston Marketplace retail center, formerly housed 40 Thieves Irish Pub. It therefore appears that 40 Thieves is being reimagined as a brand new outpost of The Wexford.

The question, then, is whether this represents an expansion for the Wexford—that is to say, if The Wexford is to both reopen in its original Tampa spot on Beares Avenue and open a Lutz location replace 40 Thieves—or if the move represents a relocation on The Wexford’s part from Tampa to Lutz.

What Now reached out this week to owner Mark Birkin to ask about The Wexford’s plans. Birkin was not immediately available to discuss the news.

Stay tuned for possible updates as more details come to light.
