Popular convenience store/food service chain Wawa is preparing to open its first drive-thru restaurant location in Florida. The new Wawa outpost is expected to open at 2530 East Bay Drive in Largo, in a space formerly occupied by a Kentucky Fried Chicken, according to recent coverage by St. Pete Rising.

“Wawa, founded in 1964 in Folsom, Pennsylvania, is well-known for its freshly prepared sandwiches, hoagies, and a variety of beverages, including their signature coffee blends,” says the St. Pete Rising coverage. “With over 1,000 locations across multiple states, the chain has built a loyal customer base and a strong presence in the Northeastern United States.”

The restaurant will forgo the perhaps more familiar gas-station Wawa model, focusing on food only, in a standalone, drive-thru-equipped space that occupies a little over 2,000 square feet.

No opening date has been announced yet for the upcoming Wawa location. You can follow @wawa on Instagram to stay up to date on Wawa news.
