Cintro, the Asian-fusion restaurant recognized as London’s only OpenTable Top 100 selection, is preparing to expand with a new multi-concept venue at 250 Piccadilly Street.
The upcoming development will take over the former Beer Store location, which closed in January 2025, according to the London Free Press. Located just 230 meters from the original Cintro on Wellington Street, the space will include a cafe, dessert bar, upscale dining room, and private event area. The new venue is scheduled for a soft opening in early 2026. Diners can expect a blend of Asian and Canadian influences across multiple formats.
Chef Joseph Tran and co-founders Ivy Pham and Shauna Versloot opened Cintro in 2024. The 28-seat restaurant quickly built a strong following for its modern fusion approach, with reservations now booked months in advance. The expansion is designed to help accommodate growing demand and reduce waitlist frustrations.
The new project includes three distinct concepts. Lotus and Lime will operate as a daytime cafe serving Vietnamese-inspired pastries, smoothie bowls, and teas and coffees sourced from Vietnam. In the evening, it will transition into a dessert bar featuring sweets by Tran. The cafe includes indoor seating for 28, along with a 30-seat front patio.
The second concept, Lanoa, will serve upscale multi-course dinners in a darker, moodier setting inspired by the former beer fridge area of the site. Lanoa will seat 60 guests, with an adjacent 30-person wine-cellar-style event room available for private functions.
The renovation is expected to cost between $1.5 million and $2 million and will include building a new patio, reconfiguring the parking lot, and expanding the space with 5.5-meter ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. Versloot says the group hopes to keep the space welcoming while introducing something new to the neighborhood dining scene.
