Tahini’s Mediterranean Fusion, a fast-casual Middle Eastern restaurant known for shawarmas, bowls, and platters, is preparing to open at least three new locations in the Greater Toronto Area, including Peterborough, Belleville, and Woodbridge.
The company’s newest locations are set to move into existing retail spaces at 1840 Lansdowne Street West, Unit 6, in Peterborough; 287 North Front Street, in Belleville; and 8565 Highway 27, Unit 106, in Woodbridge. While opening dates have not yet been announced, all three sites are listed as coming soon as part of the brand’s Ontario expansion. Customers can expect Tahini’s standard menu lineup, which includes shawarmas, appetizers, bowls, and platters. It’s unclear if this site is corporate-owned or franchised.
Tahini’s has expanded steadily across Canada, with restaurants currently operating throughout Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba. The company has also entered the United States with a location in Loves Park, Illinois. Many of its restaurants are located in busy commercial areas, student neighbourhoods, or high-traffic retail developments, helping the brand maintain visibility in both suburban and urban communities. The upcoming Ontario locations reinforce this pattern of growth.
The menu features a wide range of Mediterranean staples, including beef and chicken shawarma, tandoori chicken options, shareable appetizers, customizable bowls, and large platters. Consistency across its stores has been a key part of the company’s appeal, offering familiar items regardless of location. Tahini’s markets its food as fresh, flavourful, and made daily, with a focus on simple and satisfying meals.
Tahini’s built its reputation on quality ingredients, daily preparation, and reliable customer service. The success of its early stores led to the launch of Tahini’s Franchising Corporation, which now supports locations across multiple provinces. The brand has earned recognition for its Middle Eastern offerings and continues to grow with new franchise partners.
This will be an excellent landing spot for Tahini’s in Peterborough, Belleville, and Woodbridge, as each area offers steady commercial activity and a customer base familiar with fast-casual dining. With additional openings planned in North Vancouver, Cornwall, and Winnipeg, the company appears well-positioned to continue its national expansion in the coming years.
