Mia’s Table experienced an unfortunate fire at its Upper Kirby location back in August. Now, the brand is embarking on reopening that location, according to the Houston Business Journal. Mia’s Table is slated to reopen at 3131 Argonne St this fall.
The property is situated in Houston’s Greenway / Upper Kirby Area, right next door to the original Carrabba’s restaurant on Kirby Drive. The immediate vicinity is a bustling commercial area filled with retail options.
What Now Houston briefly spoke with Mia’s Table President, Drew Dalabakis, who confirmed the reopening. Unfortunately, he was unable to share further details by the time of this publication.
“Our Kirby location is temporarily closed following a kitchen fire. Cleanup is underway, and our team is working hard to get everything ready so we can reopen and welcome you back as soon as possible,” the Mia’s Table website reads.
“We’ll share reopening updates as soon as we have them.”
Well, that update recently came in the form of a Facebook post.
“Construction and repairs are underway, and we’re working hard to get our original Mia’s Table ready to reopen,” the Facebook post on Mia’s Table’s Facebook page reads.
“We’ve missed our neighbors, our regulars, and the families who fill our tables. Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and continued support while we get ready to serve you again. Follow us here for updates and our official reopening date. We can’t wait to welcome y’all back!”
Mia’s Table opened on Memorial Day in 2012 in Houston, Texas, as a family-friendly tribute created by renowned restaurateur Johnny Carrabba for his daughter, Mia. If the Carrabba name sounds familiar, it is. Carrabba is famous for building the Carrabba’s Italian-American dining brand.
Mia’s Table in Upper Kirby was the first restaurant the chain of eateries opened. Inspired by a classic Fredericksburg diner and country store, Mia’s Table combines fast-casual ordering convenience with the warmth and hospitality of a sit-down family meal. Serving Southern comfort favorites like chicken-fried steak, burgers, tacos, and home-style sides, the Southern hospitality extends beyond the food, as the eatery even gives every guest a signature complimentary frozen custard cone.
“From our signature Chicken Fried Chicken with jalapeño cream gravy to juicy burgers, slow-smoked ribs, crispy shrimp, and homestyle sides made from scratch—every dish at Mia’s Table is crafted with comfort and care,” the brand’s website reads.
“Whether you’re here for a quick lunch, family dinner, or a sweet moment topped with free frozen custard, our menu brings bold Southern flavors to the table in every bite. Pull up a chair, and taste why Houston calls us home.”
There are now seven Mia’s Table locations in the Greater Houston area, with an eighth location planned for Sugar Land.
Mia’s Table is anticipated to reopen in Upper Kirby at 3131 Argonne St this fall.
