With 10 locations in Florida (and another four in New York), Jamaican-born fast-casual patty shop chain Juici Patties is continuing to grow its footprint in the South Florida market. A new Juici Patties will open at 1401 NW 119th Street, Suite 6, in North Miami, according to submitted plan review documents.
“We should finish construction this year, and we’re hoping to open in early 2026,” Selena Gibson, who is opening the location in partnership with Ashley Graham, told What Now on Wednesday. For Gibson and Graham, who grew up in Jamaica, Juici Patties brings back flavors from childhood.
“I grew up going to a school that had patties at lunch,” Gibson told What Now. “And once I’d moved here, I tried the patties that were here, and they were good. But when I went to the opening of Juici Patties in Hollywood, it reminded me so much of home, because it tasted just like the patties you get in Jamaica.”
Juici Patties’ patty varieties include Mild Beef, Spicy Beef, Vegan, and Spicy Curry Chicken, and they can be loaded with avocado and/or cheese too. That’s all along with sides like Coco Bread, Plantains, and French Fries.
“Patties are what we’re all about! Authentic, island flavor in every Juici bite!” says the Juici Patties website. “Beef patties. Chicken patties. Sometimes mild. Sometimes with a little more spice! We’ll add cheese, sure. Like yours with lettuce, tomato and cheese? Absolutely! But, we’re also very serious about smiles! Yes, along with our food that’s bursting with traditional Jamaican spices and flavor, we’re committed to providing you excellent service in a clean, fun atmosphere!”
Opening on Northwest 1229th Street, near the intersection with Northwest 14th Avenue, Juice Patties will launch across the street from Chef Creole. Plenty of foot traffic is expected, with good parking and a six-seat counter inside by the window.
“We’re excited to be part of bringing authentic Jamaican culture and cuisine to this part of Florida,” Gibson said. “I would love for people to come out and support us.”
