According to recent public records, a new Jamaican establishment is coming to town. Island Ridden Jerk & BBQ Grill will be found at 200 University Blvd in Round Rock.

Construction notes list a “Second Generation Tenant Finish Out Renovation Project for an existing Restaurant Suite. Renovation includes the addition of an Office within the existing Dining Space and new Kitchen Equipment. Existing ADA Restrooms will remain.”

“It’s going to be Jamaican and Caribbean food with a Texas flavor,” owner Wayne Anderson recently told What Now.

“We’re going to fuse Texas BBQ and Jamaican flavors. We’ll have jerk BBQ ribs, for example. We’ll also have a fried chicken glazed with BBQ sauce. We’ll have rice and peas, plantains, all of that stuff.”

When asked why he decided to open in Round Rock, Anderson points to the future.

“The community is a booming upcoming community. Next to my location there are the outlets which is huge; tons of people go to them. There’s also an IKEA nearby.”

So when will the establishment open?

“It’s still under construction, we hope to open this summer.”
