With a mission to “lead research and development and advance innovation in medical cannabis from seed to sale in order to significantly improve the well being and quality of life of its customers,” GUD Essence has launched its first dispensary in Clearwater, and it’s preparing to expand to Orlando, where it will open a new dispensary at 9898 International Drive.
“Founded by Miami-based CEO, GŪD Essence was the second Black-owned dispensary in Florida when it opened,” noted coverage by the Jacksonville Business Journal on an additional dispensary planned for Jacksonville, where GUD Essence will be the area’s first.
“GŪD Essence is heading to the heart of Central Florida,” says the GUD Essence website. “Our Orlando dispensary on International Drive will offer the same luxury cannabis wellness experience — blending culture, education, and clinical precision.”
GUD Essence’s business model puts research and development at the forefront, the site says: “GŪD Essence has partnered with medical experts conducting cannabis research focused on cancer, sickle cell disease, and conditions disproportionately affecting Black populations. The organization aims to drive clinical breakthroughs and enhance treatment efficacy for serious medical conditions using CBD and medical cannabis.”
What Now reached out on Wednesday to GUD Essence CEO Jasmine Johnson to ask about plans for the opening. Johnson was not immediately available for comment.
