A new logistics development is underway in Beltsville, part of the Washington, D.C. metro area. Developed by Logistics Property Company, LLC (LogiPropCo), the project marks the firm’s debut in the Washington, D.C. market. The company recently broke ground, officially beginning the construction.

Beltsville Logistics Center Project Begins in Washington, D.C.

Beltsville in the Washington, D.C. Metro area is welcoming a new development project. The construction of the Beltsville Logistics Center has begun with a groundbreaking ceremony. Chicago-based LogiPropCo is taking over this project.

The project features two buildings and occupies a 270,000-square-foot space. The project site is alongside MD-200, providing immediate access to I-95. The site offers direct access to major transportation hubs, including the Washington, D.C. border. The Port of Baltimore and Baltimore/Washington International Airport are other easily accessible areas from this site.

Of the two buildings, Building 1 will occupy 147,358 square feet of space, while Building 2 occupies 122,606 square feet of space. Both buildings will feature 32-foot clear heights, multiple dock doors, and ample on-site parking.

Project Celebrates Company’s Entry into Washington, D.C. Market

Chicago-based Logistics Property Company is leading the development. Headquartered in Chicago, it focuses on modern logistics properties and the acquisition and development of the same. The company owns 27 million square feet of logistics facilities, some of which are under development.

The Beltsville project is the company’s inaugural project in the Washington, D.C. market. The project marks a milestone as the company expands its footprint into the D.C. region.

“We are pleased to announce the commencement of construction on our inaugural project in the Washington, D.C. market in this premier location,” said Mark Glagola, Senior Vice President of Logistics Property Company’s Northeast Region. “This is a strong, growing industrial market, and we hope to develop additional projects in the area.”

Strategic Project to Reflect the County’s Economic Vitality

The Beltsville facility underscores Prince George’s County’s growing prominence as a strategic industrial hub. Its growing economic vitality is visible through this project, making it a potential for long-term investments.

The project’s general contractor is FCL Builders. The project is anticipated to be delivered by the third quarter of 2026. The development reflects a stabilizing economy that’s creating new job opportunities.
