A new Italian restaurant, cafe, and bar called Ama will open on the ground floor inside AC Hotel at 867 New Jersey Ave SE, according to Eat DC— an online account that posts restaurant news and food reviews.

The restaurant is the latest concept by restaurateurs Micah and Johanna Wilder, a married couple who also run restaurants Chaplin’s and Zeppelin as part of Boom Daddy Hospitality’s restaurant portfolio. The couple also operate Hank’s Cocktail Bar and Mercy Me: a South American-inspired coffee house and bar.

Ama will operate as a Sicilian eatery and café and it is listed as a “Cafe Aperitivo” on Boom Daddy Hospitality’s website, which said that it will open soon. What Now DC reached out to Micah Wilder by phone and text to ask about a potential opening date and more details, but is yet to receive a response.

The new Italian restaurant will open in the AC Hotel, where Smoke & Mirrors rooftop restaurant and bar is located.
