A Fairfax favorite bakery is preparing to shake up the Alexandria sweet scene with a welcome taste of Azerbaijan. Sevda Tahirli, the owner of Baku Delicious, has filed permits to open a new location in the Parker-Grey neighborhood next year, reports local media outlet ALXNow.
Tahirli is hoping to set up her ovens in 711 Pendleton Street. According to paperwork submitted to the Department of Planning and Zoning, the location will provide Baku Delicious 620 square feet to greet and serve up to 20 guests. The eatery anticipates serving up to 25 visitors a day.
Alexandria locals will be able to sample the bakery’s fare from 10 am to 8 pm, Monday through Sunday.
While a precise opening date is not currently available, Tahirli intends to open Baku’s new location sometime in 2025.
Described on the permit as an “art cafe, serving freshly baked pastries, coffee and teas”, Baku Delicious opened its original location in Fairfax in 2016. In addition to an impressive menu of savory and sweet cuisine, the cafe offers classes and community engagement certain to be a welcome addition to the Alexandria hospitality scene.
