If a neighborhood is only as good as its best pizza, DC’s Bridge District mixed-use development is proving itself to be a culinary force to be reckoned with. The up-and-coming project is welcoming Andy’s Pizza-an award winning chain with multiple locations across the District- as part of its dining scene, reports the Washington Business Journal.
Andy’s is set to share a space at 633 Howard Avenue SE with Atlas Brew Works. Owner Andy Brown has previously expressed to What Now DC that it isn’t company policy to discuss opening dates, however Atlas is inching towards its Bridge District debut, giving Andy’s fans reason to be cautiously optimistic about enjoying a hot slice relatively soon.
Andy’s is a powerful presence in the DMV. The chain has 11 locations spread across the region, and plenty of acclaim to support any degree of expansion the pizzeria may choose to pursue. The best pies are often the most straightforward, and Andy’s dedicates much of its efforts to crafting truly delicious slices versus reinventing the wheel. The website explains why DMV diners can’t get enough, saying: “A 72-hour cold ferment gives our crust a unique crisp but soft bite with a touch of sourdough. Cut from our 18″ pizza and served on a paper plate, slices come out fresh and hot”
