There’s exciting news on the horizon for Maryland pizza fans. Andy’s Pizza, one of the DMV’s most celebrated pizzerias, has set its sights on Gaithersburg and will be opening a new location in the Kentlands neighborhood, reports Fox Homes.

Andy’s will be firing up its ovens at 145 Commerce Square Place. Gaithersburg is switching out one hot slice for another; the storefront previously housed MOD Pizza until its closure in March of 2024. While it’s not yet clear when precisely the restaurant will be ready for guests, Andy’s should be open before the end of the year-Fox Homes sites an anticipated fall opening.

Andy’s Pizza is one of the DMV’s strongest contenders and favorite pies. It’s received raves from Northern Virginia Magazine, Washingtonian, and The Washington Post. Proving that great things come to those who wait, Andy’s distinguishes itself through its patiently crafted dough. The website explains the process, saying: “A 72-hour cold ferment gives our crust a unique crisp but soft bite with a touch of sourdough.”

The small but mighty chain currently has ten locations open across the DMV, fueled by a menu that features the traditional favorites fans know and love alongside specialty options like buffalo crispy chicken, diavolo, and burrata margherita.
