Arlington diners, prepare to say “bonjour” to your next great dining obsession. Based in New York, but with its heart in France, the popular bakery Maman is preparing to make its mark on the neighborhood food scene, reports local media outlet ARLNow.

The eatery is moving its mixers and ovens into 2055 15th Street N., in the street level of the Commodore apartment building. While a precise opening date is not presently available, Maman is projecting a summer of 2025 arrival.

The concept is joining several other businesses in the Commodore, creating a community that co-owner Elisa Marshall believes will allow the bakery to flourish. She states “We are thrilled to bring Maman to the heart of the Courthouse neighborhood. With The Commodore’s vision for a vibrant community, we look forward to offering Arlington our signature blend of French-inspired, comforting cuisine and carefully crafted ambiance that so many have come to love.”

Maman-the French word for “mother”-has been making a larger push into the DMV region since 2022. The concept currently has 6 locations opened across the DC metro area. Its seasonal menu of delicious pastries and brunch options has charmed guests since its New York City founding in 2014.

Offerings vary from location to location, however future Arlington regulars can anticipate a selection of dishes that take inspiration from the French countryside, ranging from omelettes to soups.
