Ashburn diners, get ready to have your (crab) cake and eat it too. Frye’s Famous Crab Cake Co., the Manassas favorite that claims the title of the #1 crab cake in the USA, is opening its first Loudoun County location later this year, reports local media outlet The Burn.

The seafood concept will be joining the Ashburn Eats center, located at 44640 Waxpool Road. Frye’s does not yet have a precise opening date available for its Loudoun debut, but diners can look forward to sampling the restaurant’s fare this spring; the eatery projects a March or April opening.

Frye’s Famous Crab Cake Co. is the passion project of Brandon Frye, also known as Food Dude USA. Frye spent over 5 years perfecting his crab cakes, launching Frye’s first home in Manassas in 2019. The website offers a mouth-watering glimpse of what Ashburn foodies can look forward to, stating: “We founded Jumbo Lump Cakes on our love of quality food and our passion local business. Using our experience in our local food communities, we curate a seasonal selection for our customers.”

Frye’s menu prominently features crabcakes, as one might expect. However, future regulars can also look forward to sinking their teeth into a crab salad sandwich, crab pretzel, and a genuinely astonishing BLT, made with nine pieces of bacon.
