One of the DMV’s busiest and most prolific hospitality groups is setting out to show Sterling it knows what’s going on. Thompson Restaurant Group is preparing to revive a faded concept called Austin Grill in the same shopping center that housed a former one of its eateries, reports local media outlet The Burn.

Thompson already has a stake in the area; Austin Grill will be replacing Velocity Wings in the Great Falls Plaza at 20789 Great Falls Plaza. Austin Grill has historically been a Tex-Mex concept, however it is unclear how closely Thompson Restaurant Group intends to hew to history when it comes to launching this new location.

Thompson and Austin fused in 2006. The chain has since focused on Tex-Mex classics. However, Thompson Restaurant Group has consistently turned its face and imagination towards innovation, so it’s unclear if the restaurant intends to reinvent Austin Grill or if it hopes to maintain a standard. Wherever it lands, the DMV is certain to be better off for new and welcome innovation.
