Ashburn foodies, get ready for the taste of sunshine and the sea. Movement is occurring on the Bartaco, known for its “upscale street food”, coming to the region, reports local media outlet The Burn.

According to general contracting company L.F. Jennings, bidding for the 5,263 square foot project is set for January 16, 2025, suggesting Loudoun diners are still quite a ways from enjoying one of the restaurant’s tacos or rice bowls. However, Bartaco president Anthony Valletta tells What Now DC that the lease has not yet officially been signed.

Bartaco will be a stand-alone new construction, with seating for up to 168 visitors. Guests will be able to choose between enjoying their drinks and meals at the bar, in the dining room, or al fresco on the outdoor patio.

Site work has begun on the newest phase of One Loudoun-of which Bartaco is a part. Several other high profile companies will be joining the restaurant, including but not limited to Van Leeuwen ice cream and Tatte Bakery.

Andy Pforzheimer and Sasa Mahr-Batuz opened the first Bartaco in Port Chester, New York in 2010. The brand has experienced considerable success since debuting that initial restaurant; the chain now has 33 locations across the United States.
