2Fifty, a wood-smoked barbecue restaurant that is expanding near the downtown DC area, has recently announced that it will have a grand opening for its new location in early 2024.
The new spot will be based in the Mt. Vernon Triangle neighborhood at 414 K St. NW, and it will serve 2Fifty’s famous smoked meats with a “pinch of tropics,” according to the restaurant’s press release.
2Fifty’s menu includes slow-cooked wagyu and Prime brisket, tender ribs, buttery turkey, and sausages made in-house.
Award-winning Pitmaster and co-owner Fernando González, who runs 2Fifty with his wife/ business partner Debby Portillo, will be leading a team of highly skilled culinary professionals to serve the barbecue restaurant’s smoked dishes.
“Handcrafted barbecue is very complex to achieve but it should be easy to enjoy, and that’s what we are aiming for,” said Gonzalez.
González and Portillo, who both are El Salvador natives, first opened the Texas-style smoked meat restaurant in 2020 in Riverdale Park in Maryland.
2Fifty also has a spot at Union Market in DC that it first announced in 2021, but the food stall will close on December 31, marking the end of its three-year lease, according to Axios.
