Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, the family-owned barbecue chain, has announced the permanent closure of its Herndon Center location in Virginia. The announcement came via social media, where the restaurant cited rising costs as the reason for shutting down.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Bids Farewell with an Emotional Message

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, a well-known barbecue chain, has officially closed its Herndon Center location. The restaurant was known for its authentic Texas-style barbecue, featuring slow-smoked brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, and St. Louis ribs.

After two years in business, the restaurant has permanently closed. The restaurant shared a heartfelt message thanking its staff and loyal customers in the social media post.

The social media post said, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the permanent closure of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Herndon, VA.”

“Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of serving this wonderful community, from family dinners and celebrations to quick lunches and backyard catering. Every plate of ribs, pulled pork sandwich, and smile we shared meant the world to us.”

The Dickey’s Barbecue Pit team added, “We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all our loyal guests, amazing staff, and the Herndon community who supported us through thick and thin.”

Factors that Contributed to the Shutdown

In its post, the restaurant said rising costs and declining customer traffic have made it difficult to continue operations.

The restaurant wrote on social media, “This decision was not made lightly. Like many small businesses, we’ve faced rising costs of doing business and a significant decline in customer traffic that made it impossible to continue operations.”

As the restaurant bids farewell, it said the memories and friendships built over the years will endure.

“Though our doors are closing, the memories, laughter, and friendships we’ve built will last forever. Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your lives,” said the restaurant team.

Amid rising costs and slow business, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit announced a permanent shutdown of its Herndon Center location. The restaurant’s hearty barbecue and welcoming atmosphere will be missed by its loyal customers.
