Cabin John Village foodies hungry for something new can look forward to their first taste of a fresh chain with an eye on health. Pura Vida Miami is bringing a more nutritious option to the Potomac fast-casual dining scene, and it’s set to open its first Maryland location later this year, according to The List: Are You On It?

The neighborhood is trading out Cuban fare for all-day breakfasts, smoothies, acai bowls, and sandwiches. Pura Vida Miami is taking over the 7919 Tuckerman Lane storefront occupied until recently by Colada Shop. The latter restaurant opened in the location in 2021 and closed its doors for the last time in September of 2025. There is not yet a firm date for Pura Vida Miami’s opening, however the eatery is on track to greet guests by early spring of this year.

Potomac diners are certain to embrace Pura Vida Miami’s nutritious, sustainable, and ethical cuisine. The concept uses high-quality whole ingredients to prepare its fare and contributes any leftover and unused elements to a composting partner.

Of course, the cuisine must be delicious in order to win over local foodies and future customers needn’t fear on that front. The website explains: “We craft every menu item to meet today’s fast-paced lifestyle needs with an emphasis on colorful plates filled with fruits, vegetables, and proteins. We believe in eating balanced nutritional meals that are tasty and satisfying.” In addition to all-day breakfast, the menu offers bowls, salads, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, and cold pressed juices.
