Winter is bringing a second life to a long-empty Alexandria building, in the form of hot burritos and delicious bowls. Chipotle is opening a new location in the Sacramento Center, reports Rappaport Cultivating Places.
The chain, beloved for its fast-casual approach to Mexican cuisine, will be opening in a 3,198 square foot, stand-alone building located at 8790 Sacramento Drive. A Chipotle representative has stated that barring any unforeseen circumstances, the restaurant should be open and prepared to feed guests this winter.
Chipotle already has a formidable hold on the Virginia market. The brand has around 122 restaurants, and growing, in the state already, with several more in the works. The fast-casual juggernaut has been in expansion mode for the past several years, and has ballooned to include more than 3,000 locations worldwide.
Chipotle has developed a devoted following since its inception in 1993. Guests are drawn to the concept’s assembly line approach to Mexican fare; patrons are able to cobble together their ideal meal by selecting bases, proteins, and toppings.
