DC coffee fans, set coordinates for your next great java fix. Compass Coffee is preparing to open a new District location on I Street, reports popular Twitter feed @eat_dc.

The Washington, DC, based chain will be opening at 82 I Street, SE, in the space that last housed Slipstream. An opening timeline is not currently available, however Compass has historically moved pretty quickly when debuting new locations. This will be the second cafe the brand has brought to the neighborhood.

Founded in 2014, Compass Coffee is the passion project of Harrison Suarez and Michael Haft, two Marines who wanted to offer customers a simple, delicious, and ethically sourced cup of joe. The company’s website describes its objective as: “the hope to grow cafes in and around DC, Compass Coffee’s goal is to provide experiences that go beyond a cup of coffee, crafting rituals that bring people together and enrich daily life.” The concept currently has 18 locations spread across DC.
