T Street breakfast fans have lost one of the best places to enjoy the most important meal of the day. Locals needn’t worry, however; neighborhood favorite Butter Me Up has ceased operations at its current location but is actively seeking a new home, reports local media outlet PoPville.

The concept, founded by Andre McCain of HalfSmoke, began serving guests at 1409 T Street, NW, in 2022. Butter Me Up has not yet announced the location of its new home nor a timeline for how long hungry visitors will have to wait before enjoying the eatery’s fare again.

Fans of the breakfast restaurant needn’t despair entirely. Butter Me Up is moving its operations online until the new brick and mortar is established and running.

A social media post from the concept provided both a farewell and a promise, stating “We’re thrilled to announce that Butter Me Up is moving to a new location! While we prepare for this exciting transition, our online store will remain open and ready to serve you. Join us this weekend for our final in-person visit at our current location (1409 T Street NW). Don’t worry—we’ll keep bringing you the delicious flavors you love from the comfort of your home. Stay tuned for updates on our new location! Thank you for your support, and we can’t wait to continue this journey with you online!”
