DMV diners know that a new kid in town is always cause for celebration-especially one who comes bearing fresh cuisine and good vibes. Florida-based chain Pure Vida Miami plans to do precisely that-the healthier fast-casual eatery has set its sights on a brand new DC home, reports local media outlet PoPville.
Pure Vida Miami will be importing Miami sunshine to the space at 1443 P Street, NW that housed Commissary until it closed last July. An opening timeline is not presently available for the new restaurant; the storefront still very much appears to be Commissary, however early signs of construction have popped up at the property.
Pure Vida Miami will probably be an unfamiliar name to most District diners, however the concept has been active since 2012. The brand has been largely concentrated in Florida and New York, but has recently been making moves into the DMV market with additional locations planned for Fairfax and Potomac.
With a menu populated with nutritious choices ranging from acai bowls to smoothies, Pure Vida Miami strives to provide a healthy alternative for diners. The website explains: “At the core of our mission is to provide delicious and healthy food while creating a like-minded community With our diverse range of menu options, including vegan and gluten-free options, we aim to cater to the diverse dietary needs of our customers.”
