A small but beloved local restaurant chain is readying to make its Leesburg debut. Deli Italiano is preparing to open in Catoctin Circle SE, reports local media outlet The Burn.

Deli Italiano will be moving into the space that formerly housed Aiyara Thai Restaurant, located at 5 Catoctin Circle SE. A construction permit posted on the 3,000 square foot building indicates the space will need to undergo renovations prior to opening. While an opening timeline is not currently available, work is underway, suggesting Leesburg locals will be able to enjoy the restaurant’s signature sandwiches and pizzas in mid to early 2024.

The first Deli Italiano opened its doors in Great Falls in 1990. Today the restaurant, founded and owner by Yasser Baslios, has five Virginia locations with two more in the works. The eatery prides itself on making every dish from scratch, including the dough and sauce used for the pizzas. The establishment also offers customers wings, salads, subs, calzones, and pastas.
