A small but mighty DMV chain is preparing to serve up a heaping helping of Italian favorites to Leesburg diners. Deli Italiano is extending its culinary empire to the neighborhood later this year, reports local media outlet The Burn.

The concept-which already has four locations open and operational across Virginia-is moving into the space formerly occupied by Aiyara Thai. Deli Italiano will occupy 1,600 square feet at 5 Catoctin Circle SE and is targeting a late spring or early summer opening.

Deli Italiano will be intensely renovating the space, giving it a makeover that will provide customers with outdoor patio seating and an updated dining room.

Deli Italiano is a well-established Virginia institution. The restaurant launched its first location in Great Falls in 1990. While the chain has experience great success since serving its first customers, the business has never lost sight of its driving ethos-good food and community enrichment.

The restaurant’s website beautifully sums up Dei Italiano’s purpose, saying: “Though Deli Italiano has grown a lot in the last 31 years, we have held on dearly to the things we were built on: good old fashioned customer service, made-from-scratch dough and sauce, topped with 100% real mozzarella cheese, and keeping our hearts and minds focused on helping others, in any way we can.”
