The Alexandria dining scene will soon be getting a taste of one of the DMV region’s top Thai restaurants. The Pattana Restaurant Group is opening a fourth location of the popular Dok Khao Thai Eatery in the Oakville Triangle mixed use project, reports the Washington Business Journal.

The concept, which aims to create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors of all ages, will be occupying around 4,000 square feet of real estate in the development, located at the intersection of  the west side of Richmond Highway and Swann Avenue.

Dok Khao Thai Eatery is still in the early phases; Pattana Restaurant Group has only recently signed the lease for the space. However, Pattana Restaurant Group co-founder Porntipa Pattanamekar confirms that the hospitality group is aiming to open the restaurant in April of 2025.

Pattanamekar explains that the Alexandria location will adhere to Dok Khao Thai Eatery’s commitment to serving delicious food in a warm and inviting setting for the whole family. “We are still keeping the same concept. We want to be the second kitchen for our customers.” she says, adding “When we say kitchen we mean: dad can have a corner for his favorite liquor, beer, or wine, mommy can have good fresh foods, dessert coffee and tea, and kids will have fried chicken with waffles. We’re imagining that all of the family members will have a great meal…That’s the vibe what we would love to serve and bring into Dok Khao.”

Dok Khao Thai Eatery is one of several concepts overseen by Pattana. The hospitality group also owns such DMV favorites as Sense of Thai, Thai at, and Tiki Thai.
