One of the best things to ever happen to the DMV sweet-scene is about to grow its local family. Dolcezza, a concept which serves some of the finest scoops of gelato in the District, is opening a new location on H Street, reports local media outlet PoPville.

DC diners will be able to enjoy the scent of freshly brewed coffee emanating from Dolcezza’s newest storefront at 600 H Street, NE.The eatery will be replacing the Wydown in the Apollo apartment building.

While a precise opening date is not currently available, popular Twitter feed @Eat_dc states that Dolcezza will begin serving customers this March.

Owners Robb Duncan and Violeta Edelman launched the first Dolcezza in Georgetown in 2004. The gelateria swiftly set itself apart through its delectable, hand-crafted treats. Dolcezza’s website offers this glimpse into the company’s ethos and priorities: “The proof of what we do and how we do it is in the cup, whether it’s a cup of freshly spun gelato or a neatly poured cappuccino, we put our craft and our stamp on everything we do, with care, precision and attention. That’s what we like doing, whether it’s at our shop or in our home, it’s our craft and it makes us feel deeply satisfied.”

While the star of the Dolcezza menu is, of course, the impressive selection of hand-made gelatos, the eatery also offers a selection of pastries. Visitors can wash their treats down with a wide range of coffee drinks, both hot and cold, teas, and juices.
