Alexandria Francophiles with a flair for the sweeter things in life, get excited. Eclairons, a Rosslyn-based bakery, is bringing the flavors of Paris straight to your doorstep when it opens a new location in Old Town later this year, reports the Washington Business Journal.
The pastry shop is ensuring its new 2,400 square foot storefront, located at 430 South Washington Street, continues its legacy of serving up delicious baked goods. The space had housed Firehook Bakery from 2004 to 2024.
The Eclairons team has established itself as a reliable presence in the DMV. Marketing and store manager Maya Srour tells What Now DC that becoming a part of the Old Town community is the next logical step-one she and her partners are enthusiastic about undertaking. “As frequent visitors to the city ourselves, we were really drawn in by the strong sense of community, charm, history, and most importantly, the people.” she says, adding “The welcoming spirit we’ve received from everyone here already has been so heartwarming and we’ve really come to admire the deep sense of pride and passion the people have for their city. We love how Old Town brings people together, and we can’t wait to do our part in making an impact through our culinary lens.”
While the quality of Eclairons’ superior French pastries speaks for itself, Srour credits the human influence for the decision to expand. She explains: “We’ve taken so much pride and joy in serving the Rosslyn community, and over time, we’ve built an incredible team that’s truly passionate about our concept and who are ready for something new. Not to mention, our customers also played a major role, supporting us and believing in us every step of the way, some who were even traveling from other cities just to visit us. The encouragement we’ve received from both our amazing team and loyal customers inspired us to take the leap and share our passion and story with a new city.”
Eclairons has successfully established itself as a Rosslyn favorite, thanks to its delicious and authentic French and Lebanese pastries. In addition to the expected sweets, the menu also offers delectable savory lunch and breakfast options, ranging from avocado toast to chicken shawarma. The coffee bar offers plenty of caffeination and variety to wash down each dish.
The Eclairons crew is hoping to have the Old Town location open by the end of July. Not content to simply feed customers, the team is setting out to create an entire experience for visitors. Srour sums up the Eclairons intention beautifully, saying “ At Eclairons, we want every visit to feel like more than just grabbing a bite—it’s about the experience. We’ve created a warm, welcoming space where people can slow down and enjoy the finest French pastries, rich Illy coffee, and a thoughtfully crafted breakfast and lunch menu. Quality, creativity, and hospitality are at the heart of everything we do, and we put a lot of care into every detail, from the flavors on your plate to the atmosphere around you.”
