Opening day is nearly here for what promises to be a new DMV favorite, over a year in the making. Electric Bull, the latest from celebrated chef Victor Albisu, will be opening its doors to hungry customers later this year, reports Northern Virginia Magazine.
The 176 Maple Avenue West restaurant promises to become one of the DMV’s most exciting dining experiences. Led by a veritable murderer’s row of hospitality talent-including Justin Severino, Jennifer Resick Williams, and Adam Hoffa alongside Albisu-Electric Bull will add a unique element of excitement to its eclectic menu by incorporating live-fire cooking.
Menu, of course, is the question on every future regular’s mind, and they can rest easy knowing the eatery will be offering plenty of delicious dishes. The concept is, primarily, a steakhouse, serving up unbelievably fresh cuts of meat. In keeping that theme alive and central, Electric Bull will feature a butcher counter with “dry-aged steaks and South American cuts, as well as rubs and condiments for the home grillmaster”
While diners are, of course, familiar with steak as a concept, Electric Bull will be utilizing cuts of meat that many may not expect. Not content to be limited to rib-eye or filet, Albisu and his team plan to be limited only by their imaginations. The James Beard nominee explains: “There are so many interesting cuts people rarely see — it’s gonna be hangers and skirt steaks and short ribs and picanha and flat irons. We can just do what we want to do and have fun doing it.”
For those who prefer their meals a bit more surf than turf-Electric Bull has you covered. The restaurant will be offering raw bar dishes, alongside charcuterie and other, yet-to-be defined options.
Electric Bull does not yet have a definitive opening date, however should be ready to welcome customers this spring.
While Electric Bull is undeniably a unique and distinctive restaurant model, Albisu and his team want it to be approachable and-above all else-a welcoming presence in its Vienna neighborhood. He states: “This is a great community with people who love food. We want to be meaningful in that neighborhood way.”
