A well-known actor and a celebrated restaurateur walk into a bar, craft it with culture, care, and sophistication, and create DC’s next great night out. Elegancia, the passion project of multi-hyphenate entertainer Wilmer Valderrama and hospitality veteran Daniella Senior, is bringing Latin American flavor and refinement to Union Market later this year, reports local media outlet PoPville.
The cocktail bar promises to bring “refinement rooted in respect for culture, for ingredients, and for the guest experience” to its upcoming 1280 4th Street, NE home. DC residents and visitors won’t have to wait much longer to check out Elegancia; the concept will be opening its doors and welcoming guests on Sunday, February 8.
Valderrama and Senior want Elegancia to be a love letter to Latin American culture, where “…elegance is felt in the details: the way something is prepared, presented, and served. It is sophistication without pretense, grounded in lived experience and cultural pride rather than polish for its own sake.”
Elegancia is destined to become a DMV hot-spot, reflective of the melting pot that DC is. Senior explains: “This project is deeply personal to me: it reflects my vision of hospitality, from the atmosphere and service to the way people are genuinely cared for. Washington, D.C. felt like the natural home for Elegancia. It’s a city defined by diversity and dialogue, where different worlds intersect, and that spirit mirrors exactly what we’re creating.”
