A DMV-favorite food truck is getting ready to lay down roots in Annandale. Flavor Hive, celebrated for its walking tacos, is preparing to open its first brick and mortar location later this year, reports local media outlet Northern Virginia Magazine.

The restaurant will be infusing new life into the space at 4260 John Marr Drive that is set to be its new home. The building previously housed a Wells Fargo bank, marking a pretty dramatic change in purpose. Ownership is aiming for a mid-June opening, but locals hoping to sample Flavor Hive’s cuisine won’t have to wait until the summer comes to enjoy its fare.

The Flavor Hive food truck is parked outside of the concept’s future home while construction is underway. It is serving up walking tacos, rice bowls, quesadillas, pitas, and fries on Mondays through Thursdays, from 6 pm to midnight, on Saturdays from 11 am to midnight, and on Sundays from noon to 10 pm. DMV foodies can also stop into Flavor Hive’s Alexandria location at 5249 Duke Street.

The concept has earned raves from satisfied customers and dining luminaries alike. Flavor Hive even captured the attention of much-buzzed-about food reviewer Keith Lee. Flavor Hive, under the leadership of owners Shihan Chowdhury and Amgd Gende, works hard to ensure every visitor leaves with a full stomach and a memorable experience. Its stated goal is straightforward: ”we’re passionate about small-batch, artisanal food that’s more than just sustenance – it’s an experience. We craft each product using the finest locally-sourced, sustainable ingredients to bring you something special. From flavorful sauces to indulgent cookies and chocolates, each bite celebrates taste. We pride ourselves on using unique ingredients to make every product one-of-a-kind.”
