DC gamers and diners, start saving your quarters, you’re going to need them this fall. Maryland favorite GameOn bar + arcade will be venturing outside of that state for the first time when it opens its upcoming District location later this year, reports local media outlet PoPville.

GameOn will be making its DC debut at 1330 U Street NW. Locals have reason to be excited; the storefront is in development and signage in the windows is certain to build and inspire anticipation for the gaming and dining mecca. The bar and arcade will be bringing a very different life to the 3,400 square foot space which previously housed Enigma Cocktail Lounge & Wine Vault-one anchored by fun and a hint of whimsy.

Founded by partners in business and life Casey and Eli Linthicum, GameOn bar + arcade currently has three locations open and operational in Maryland-the first two of which were launched in 2022 in Annapolis and Baltimore, with a Columbia location following. No two GameOns are exactly the same; each possesses a component fully unique to it. DC residents will have to wait a bit before they learn what distinctive feature will set them apart, but not too long. Casey Linthicum was kind enough to confirm with What Now DC that she and Eli are anticipating an autumn opening, and we will be following GameOn’s DC progress and updating readers as new information becomes available.

A few titillating details are available to whet future regulars’ appetites and provide enough sustenance to maintain excitement for the entertainment venue until the doors swing open. GameOn will feature two bars and a full kitchen, ensuring guests can enjoy a delicious meal alongside cocktails and mocktails.

Of course, as the name suggests, the games are the stars of the show. GameOn will invite visitors to enjoy a range of arcade games, alongside activities like skeeball and basketball. Its arrival is certain to cause quite a stir among local gamers, as they embrace a concept which ranks among the Top 21 Best Arcades in the US.
