Georgetown is preparing to bid a bittersweet adieu to one of its favorite dining institutions. The bitterness which comes with the closing of El Centro, a local staple for more than ten years will be sweetened by the arrival of a brand new restaurant-one that comes cloaked in mystery. Ten Five Hospitality, a Los Angeles based restaurant group, has signed a lease to bring a new and as-of-yet unnamed concept in the storefront, reports the Washington Business Journal.

Ten Five Hospitality will have a dedicated 6,500 square feet at 1218 Wisconsin Avenue NW to develop its newest innovation in. And it will be new-Ten Five’s managing partner Dan Daley confirms that the group will not be placing one of the company’s existing concepts in the space.

Georgetown residents eager to sample whatever lies ahead still have a considerable wait ahead of them; the new restaurant is on deck for a projected March of 2026 opening. This will, lamentably, leave a bit of a void in the local dining scene, as El Centro is set to close on June 29 of this year.

Ten Five Hospitality is the team behind Union Market’s upcoming Desert 5 Spot, alongside other creative concepts including Bar Lis and Mother Wolf.
