Union Market diners who have been patiently awaiting the arrival of Greco Truly Greek’s second location, get excited. The long-in-development restaurant is actively under construction, suggesting an opening is near, reports local media outlet PoPville.

Greco Truly Greek is currently enjoying a fresh burst of activity at its 1285 4th Street, NE storefront. Work is underway on the interior of the restaurant, however an opening timeline is not yet clear. However a representative of Greco Truly Greek was kind enough to confirm to What Now DC that the eatery will be opening at some point in early 2026.

Talk of the location first began in 2023, with incremental progress occurring over the intervening years.

The Union Market location will be Greco Truly Greek’s second DC storefront, joining an existing location in Georgetown. According to a liquor license placard posted by the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration, the eatery will be able to seat 66 customers and will have a total occupancy load of 114.

Founded in Boston in 2017, Greco Truly Greek strives to live up to the promise of its name through delicious cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere. The 6-restaurant chain is driven by a desire “to deliver a genuine Greek culinary experience to everyone, everywhere. We believe in the power of food to bring people together, fostering a sense of community and connection.”
