A Maryland-favorite bakery is preparing to make its Pentagon City debut. Gwenie’s Pastries, already known and beloved across the DMV, is opening a new location in the neighborhood this spring, reports local media outlet ARLNow.

The family-run institution will be breathing new life into its upcoming Arlington storefront. The 1417 South Fern Street space which previously housed W Nails & Spa will be serving up fresh pastries and hot coffee this April.

Gwenie’s has been a staple of the DMV dining scene for going on 20 years. The bakery stands out thanks in part to its delicious interpretations of authentic Filipino treats. Each menu item is made with care, using family recipes handed down from generation to generation. Owner Stella Fernandez explains: “With Pride and Honor, we now share to the world that taste which our family’s tradition has mastered and perfected through time. This is our way of honoring them by satiating your palates with our creation at Gwenie’s Pastries.”
