A small but mighty poultry revolution is occurring in Northern Virginia. Yes, hot chicken and fried chicken are loudly dominating the fast-casual scene, but a chain serving a variety of chicken salads is making a quiet and steady impact. Chicken Salad Chick-which serves exactly what customers expect, though probably not how they expect it-is working on a new Herndon location, reports local media outlet The Burn.

Construction is underway on the restaurant’s upcoming 494 Elden Street, Suite 200, home. The concept will be quite a shift for the 2,700 square foot Herndon Centre space, which previously housed a MOD Pizza restaurant location.

A precise opening date is not yet available for Chicken Salad Chick’s Herndon, however work is progressing nicely, suggesting the eatery will be open before the end of the year.

Chicken Salad Chick Herndon will be helmed by a local franchisee with a deep appreciation for the brand. Devon Chamberlin and her team have already opened two locations-one in Fairfax, the other in Falls Church. A fourth Leesburg storefront is in the pipeline.

Chicken Salad Chick’s menu firmly centers the titular dish, with 12 varieties of chicken salad prepared fresh, in-house daily. Guests can enjoy it by the scoop, on a sandwich, or on a salad.
