The honeymoon is far from over for an expanding DMV area fried chicken chain. Prolific restauranteer Steve Salis is launching a new location of his concept, Honeymoon Chicken, in Hyattsville, reports the Washington Business Journal.

The concept is bringing its celebrated brined poultry to a 2,500 square foot space at 5504 Baltimore Avenue. Salis originally planned to open a location of his Federalist Pig concept in the storefront.

There is not currently a great deal of information available about Honeymoon Chicken’s newest DMV location; it is unclear when, precisely, the restaurant will be opening for business. What Now DC has reached out to ownership for further information and will update readers as details become available.

While local diners may think they’ve already enjoyed everything poultry has to offer, DMV foodies are sure to delight at Honeymoon’s cuisine. The website explains: “At Honeymoon, we’re all about elevated ingredients, techniques and flavors that can transform the humble art of fried chicken into a culinary masterpiece. From inventive sides like roasted cauliflower with hot honey to plussed-up classics like a traditional 8-piece combo — it’s about as upscale as something served in a bucket can get. This is fried chicken, all dressed up with someplace to go.”

Area residents who simply cannot wait to sample the brand’s delicious fare can pop into Honeymoon’s Petworth location for its signature sandwiches, wings, and tenders.
