One of the DMV’s hottest food trucks is preparing to make the leap to brick-and-mortar and is inviting fans to get in on the restaurant’s ground floor. Catalyst Hot Dogs has launched a crowd funding campaign to help finance its first permanent home, allowing customers to invest in a delicious opportunity, reports Source of the Spring.
Catalyst, whose beloved cuisine is “inspired by the iconic culinary traditions of New Jersey’s greatest hot dog joints”, served its first frankfurter in 2020. For fans of the concept, a brick-and-mortar restaurant can’t come soon enough-and with it new possibilities. The eatery’s crowd-funding campaign, launched on Honey Comb Credit explains some of the menu expansions planned as including “ tavern burgers, mozzarella sticks, wings and classic sandwiches with breaded chicken cutlets, slow roasted pork and Italian cold cuts.”
The much-lauded hot dog concept has not yet selected a space for its new permanent location. Capital raised through the Honey Comb campaign will go towards securing a lease, equipment, and furnishings.
Contributors can rest assured that they are investing in an incredibly quality product with a built in fanbase. Catalyst has garnered the attention of high-profile sources including the Washington Post and NPR. Catalyst manages to thread the needle between sophistication and comfort, using high-quality ingredients to craft the comfort food classic diners know and love-or, as the crowd funding thesis states: “The business offers a menu centered on premium, dry-aged Black Angus all-beef hot dogs made in Maryland by Roseda Farm, which are paired with a selection of house-made toppings prepared on-site.”
