We all scream for ice cream, and a Virginia family is preparing to answer that call. Spiro Soliotis, alongside his wife and children, will be putting his own unique twist on everyone’s favorite frozen treat when he opens Ice Ice Ice Cream in Herndon next year, reports local media outlet FFX Now.

Soliotis owns the space at 1031 Sterling Road, Suite 104, where he will soon be serving sweet treats to locals. He tells What Now DC that while he didn’t purchase the property with ice cream aspirations, discovering it was zoned for restaurant use gave him the opportunity to pursue a family passion. “Opening an ice cream parlor has been a long time dream of ours, and after discovering the use type would allow us to use the space in this manner,it seemed like a good time to pursue it.  After a quick meeting with the wife and kids, we all agreed this would be a great opportunity for us to open a family operation in a town I have served for over 20 years in the insurance industry.”

Mrs. Soliotis, who has been a stay-at-home mom to children aged 6, 8, and 9, will be crafting Ice Ice Ice Cream’s decadent treats. Scoliosis explains “When we started our family, my wife and I agreed that it would be best for her to raise them until they have all started schooling years…She could continue making wonderful ice cream for us at home but why not share her recipes with all?  With the additional free time she now has with the kiddos at school during the day this would allow her the opportunity to do so with this new venture.”

Soliotis intends for Ice Ice Ice Cream to be a true family affair, from the oldest member to the youngest. He states “It will provide us with an opportunity to teach our children what running a business is like, as this will be an all hands on deck operation.  Not only will they learn business, but it will allow us to spend time in this business as a family.”

Soliotis has been serving Herndon for a considerable time and, while he values the work he has done in the insurance industry, he is looking forward to being able to offer the kind of joy only ice cream can provide. “Being in the insurance industry for so many years, I have had the opportunity to help many families during very difficult times… I was in the business of serving clients during some difficult situations and although it felt great helping families rebuild their lives, I also had to deal with loss.  Losing one in a terrible car accident or fire was the most difficult part of my job in the agency.  I knew that going in, but losing any loved one was always a difficult day for me.  The ice cream business is a business that typically will have a smile on one’s face and I am looking forward to serving happy smiles each day.”

Ice Ice Ice Cream will have a unique European flair certain to set it apart from other local ice cream parlors. Soliotis describes some of the delicious treats customers can expect, saying “Our ice cream parlor will be serving premium ice cream flavors.  Many of our flavors will have roots in Europe and Greece specifically, as this is where we spend the majority of our summers.  We will serve flavors such as Baklava.  We will incorporate many European candy bar flavors like Lila Pause, Bueno, etcetera.  We will also have soft serve ice cream options.  We will have your traditional vanilla/chocolate flavors daily but will also have monthly optional flavors like peanut butter & jelly, black raspberry cheesecake, Dole whip and many more!  We will also serve Poffertjes which are mini pancakes.  They are delicious with a little bit of ice cream on top!”

Soliotis is hoping to begin construction in November, with a spring of 2025 projected opening.
