Immigrant Food, D.C.’s first cause-casual restaurant, will open a new location in Northern Virginia, replacing Zoe’s Kitchen

The new location will span a 3,167-square-foot space at 4245 N. Fairfax Drive and it is slated to open in the second quarter of 2024, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The restaurant has locations at the Planet Word Museum, Union Market District, and Pennsylvania Ave.

“We’re in a space that is very relevant to our mission,” co-founder Peter Schechter told the Journal. “Planet Word believes words are immigrants, and that’s why they came to us with the idea of having a restaurant that celebrates immigration. Similarly, in the conservancy space, we felt there was a real synergy of mission orientation, in addition to the fact that we love Ballston.”

The layout of the restaurant will feature a nature vibe and the menu will feature smaller shareable plates with a twist in flavors.
