A popular fast-casual chain is setting out to prove to DC diners that good food on-the-go doesn’t need to sacrifice nutrition. Just Salad, a concept that focuses on-you guessed it-greens and veggies, is working on a new District location, and signage indicates that it’s “coming soon”, reports local media outlet PoPville.
Just Salad is setting up its new DMV storefront at the corner of 12th and F Street, NW. An opening timeline isn’t presently available for this new spot; while the signage in the window states it is coming soon and encourages prospective employees to apply, the location is not yet included on the company website’s “coming soon” section. What Now DC has reached out to leadership and will provide updates as further information becomes available.
Just Salad only recently made its entrance into the DMV dining scene. The chain opened its first DC location in Dupont last month. That storefront is only the brand’s opening salvo; according to the Just Salad website two additional restaurants beyond the 12th and F Street NW storefront are in the works-one in the East End and the other in Golden Triangle.
Though new to DC, Just Salad is no stranger to the fast-casual dining world. The chain’s first location opened in New York City in 2006. The brand launched with a straightforward but admirable mission, to “offer healthy, affordable, climate-conscious meals that are irresistibly delicious.” Just Salad’s commitment to sustainability, affordability, and flavor has paid off; today it has more than 100 restaurants open and feeding satisfied customers.
While Just Salad’s menu does, indeed, focus on salads, as the eatery has evolved the name has become a bit of a misnomer. In addition to the titular dish, guests can select market plates, warm bowls, wraps, and smoothies.
